A family rhythm, not another subject to rush through
Homeschool learning often begins with a question at the kitchen table. Where does this music come from? Why do people greet one another differently? What can a map tell us about daily life? MaiMai helps families turn that curiosity into conversations about places, languages, traditions, and the people who make a culture more than a list of facts. You choose the pace and stay part of the learning. Start with one place or theme rather than a long checklist. Locate it on a map, explore a story together, and invite your child to explain what surprised them. Follow an interest into a drawing, a greeting, a recipe discussion, or a comparison with your own community. A younger child might dictate an observation while an older learner investigates sources. Sharing a theme does not mean every sibling needs the same task.
Explore now. Premium administration comes later.
The existing free experience is the place to begin. Explore MaiMai’s cultural adventures, language learning, printable activities, and World Desk research for teens using the current site. These resources are not made paid by the ESA proposal. Look at the actual activity before deciding whether it fits your learner’s reading level, interests, accessibility needs, and the teaching support you can provide. A catalog count alone cannot establish that fit. The planned premium layer is different: separate child profiles, parent progress tools, downloadable reports, and organized submission documentation. Those additions are being prepared, not delivered today. Unlimited AI tutor conversations are also a planned ESA feature, not a claim about current free usage limits. Human supervision remains important: check factual answers, discuss cultural nuance, and do not treat a tutor conversation as an assessment or a substitute for your own teaching judgment.
Parent documentation should explain the learning
A useful learning record identifies what a child worked on, what they produced, and what help they needed. For a geography activity, that might be an annotated map and an explanation of a location. For a language activity, it could be a greeting practiced with a parent and a note about pronunciation. For a teen discussion, keep a short source-based paragraph showing how the learner compared two perspectives. These are suggestions for your own portfolio, not automatically generated MaiMai records. The planned reports and alignment documents are intended to organize that context. They will not turn minutes on a screen, an activity checkmark, or a badge into a claim of mastery. Formal activity-by-activity standards references are still being prepared and need review. Your state program may ask for different evidence, and your homeschool obligations may be separate from its purchasing rules. Keep those two questions distinct when deciding what to record.
Ask your program before choosing a paid service
An Education Savings Account can be a way to fund permitted learning expenses, but the name alone does not tell you how an account works. Some programs allow an approved reimbursement process; others require direct payment to participating providers. Some scholarships mainly support private-school tuition, and some flexible programs have disability-specific eligibility. A resource being educational does not automatically establish its eligibility under each of those models. Before a future purchase, share the exact proposed bundle name, annual price, profile allowance, and service description with your administrator. Ask whether an annual software subscription is allowed, whether a shared household cost can be allocated across students, and whether the provider needs registration before payment. Save the response and the handbook version you relied on. Our state guide links to official resources, but neither this page nor a support email authorizes spending or promises acceptance.
